I joined the weaving sector at Pendeza Kisumu and got trained in all production sectors of the handcraft textile industry. The training was hands-on but brief. When I finally got to sit on my handloom and weave my first warp, I was slow, got fatigued much faster and the speed of the shuttle wounded my warp, sometimes losing seven to ten strings and had to skillfully reattach them all. The reattachment was even slower and had to be done meticulously so that the weave pattern is not dent. Three months later, I harvested my first designer, hand-woven 50-meter cotton fabric.
